If you’re having a hard time sleeping because retirement seems to be creeping up on you slowly but surely, and you’re still not sure you have enough saved up, then I’ve got some great news for you. A lot of Baby Boomers are finding success starting an online business.
You might ask yourself, “Why the heck would I want to start a business at this age?” And I have three really good reasons for you.
- It’s easier than ever to start a business when you do it online.
You don’t have to be the most computer-literate person on the planet to start a simple online business. There are Baby Boomers all over the globe doing it, and some people are making more money online than they ever thought about making on their regular jobs!
It takes a bit of learning, but there are people out there who specialize in getting you up and running with a minimum of fuss. For example, this 21-step system can show you everything you need to know in order to make a really good living online.
- It’s easier than ever to maintain a business when you do it online.
When you work online, you don’t have to sweep the floors and repair the roof when it leaks. You don’t have to have a lot of employees and there aren’t as many headaches. As I said in a previous post, you can sell books from a website and never actually have to pick up and ship a book. So many things can be done electronically, at greater value for the customer and greater value for you, the vendor.
- Anybody can do it if they have the will to stick with it.
It’s really quite true that most people who try to work online don’t finish what they started. However, it’s pretty much true of everything. Almost everybody learns to paint in Kindergarten, and yet there are very few people who pursue it as a career, and even fewer who succeed. So running a business online is still running a business, and you’re still going to find challenges and a learning curve. But the difference is that the Internet makes it much, much easier, especially when you have a good coach. That’s what makes the difference in my experience.
When you’re still working your 9-to-5 and have an online business on the side, you can set up your business to be automated. It’s really fairly simple to get an autoresponder to help answer your emails and customer questions, email your merchandise, and keep in touch with prospects and customers. So why not consider starting an online business, making sales, having a great time, and augmenting what you’re already making? Many people make more part time than they did full time in a brick-and-mortar establishment.
