It might be a shock to most people facing retirement today, but you can really make money from home. Do you need super high-tech computing skills or a youthful appearance? No, not really.
In this economy, authenticity sells. And most of us who are nearing (or in) retirement are just a little camera shy and reticent to get out there and start promoting. Even the allure of making good money online is not enough for most of us to get over the fear of exposing ourselves online.
But that very fear or reticence is an indicator of honesty. You’re not wanting to advertise yourself as some kind of guru, because you’re not. And that kind of authenticity is really appealing to people who have a problem, want to solve it, want to find it online (because that is the fastest way to find almost all information), and want to buy it from someone they know, like, and trust.
I’ve seen a lot of people come into the online marketing business and fail to put out videos and other content to introduce folks to solutions in the way of product and services. People are afraid of getting on other people’s nerves, of looking like they’re trying to “push” a product, or looking stupid because they don’t know what they’re doing.
Well, it’s kind of like tying your shoe for the first time. The longer you refuse to try, the later in life you’ll finally get it figured out.
Let’s say you find a really great offer and you’re enthusiastic about it and want to promote it. You’ve already arranged an affiliate status with a vendor whose products you really endorse. You don’t want to burn out family and friends and try to push the product on them, and you’re aware (maybe because you read it here) that the best way to find people who are actually LOOKING for your solution is to advertise online.
You’ve never done any online marketing before, and you’re a little confused about the difference between sales and marketing, so you’re afraid of looking pushy or stupid.
Let me help you relax. Sales and marketing are two very distinct things!!
Sales is where you’re trying to convince someone to buy something. Marketing is where you’re spreading the word about a product or service to people who might like to know about it.
As you embark on a new online career, rest assured that you’re not going to have to be one of those pushy salespeople you dislike so much.
Just do your research, and find out what words people use to look for your type of solution, whether it be in the weight loss niche, the “make money online” niche, or any other niche.
Customize your advertisements to use the words that people use when they’re searching.
The search engines just match you up with potential customers.
Now most of the newbies won’t have the faintest idea how to set up a webpage for those people who click on your ad and are dying to get the solution you have to offer. That’s where you need help!
